I personaly think that Segway is the most fun & exciting way to see the beautiful Central Athens' sights! 
Some days ago I went on on a tour & it was really amazing!! I''ll absolutely try it again, as soon as possible!!

It looks like great fun in the open, but I dont know about in the centre when its very busy . it looks a bit too scary for me.
I know what you mean about riding in the centre, it would be scary! However, they keep well away from traffic and the main roads because there are so many pedestrianised areas nowadays.
