The Opera Bus

The Greek National Opera takes part in the "Artistic Actions in Athens" series of cultural events that runs from September 1 to October 2, 2011. This glimpse at the GNO's tour of the city by bus is just a small part of a joint programme run by the Ministry of Culture and Athens Municipality which includes participation from the National Theatre, the National Gallery, the National Museum for Contemporary Art and the Athens State Orchestra.

How cool!! If the masses won't come to the opera, take the opera to the masses - it's one heck of a way to spread culture and the arts around. Such ideas are so simple, and yet so brilliant! I hope they are able to sustain the Opera Bus. Thank you for sharing!

I found it very touching...they really want to reach out to everyone and it seems to be working (and you know how much opera is appreciated normally by the general public) However, it's only for a short time as part of an initiative by the municipality of Athens.

What a nice surprise ! I was not aware of it ! Seems both singers and audience enjoy it!
it was a bit difficult to hear what you were saying

I know, Nina, the old "microphone problems" again! I have a new idea which I will try out on my next video... let's see if the sound is better!
